about
Hi there, welcome to You Choose Your Way!
The honest version of how this blog started.
I was obsessed with productivity and self-improvement long before I understood why. I journaled every day, tracked ten-plus habits, read every self-help book I could find, and took notes on every podcast, but I still felt like I was somehow doing life wrong.
I was exhausted in ways I couldn’t explain. I felt things more intensely than the people around me, and I’d come home after a perfectly ordinary day and just collapse. For a long time, I thought that meant something was broken in me.
Underneath all of it, I was in therapy, and the diagnosis wasn’t a huge surprise: depression and generalised anxiety.
Years of learning, unlearning, therapy, books, and podcasts later, I realised my productivity had never really been about productivity. It was a coping mechanism. Somewhere along the way, I’d decided that who I was wasn’t okay, so I turned myself into a self-improvement project instead.
Looking back, so much of it makes sense now: like years of daily panic attacks I didn’t even have a name for, feeling emotionally numb and physically anxious at the same time. I had no language for any of it and no idea what to do about it. All of this layered on top of a world that simply isn’t built for people who naturally operate with a lot of depth.
This is everything I wish I’d known. If you’re here, I hope it helps you feel less alone, and I hope you don’t have to start from scratch the way I did.
A note on where this comes from:
Everything here comes from lived experience and a lot of personal research. My background in psychology and behavioural economics, combined with years of therapy and my own reading, shapes everything I write.
I’m not a therapist or a licensed clinician. I’m just someone who’s been taking notes on her own life for years and thinks they might be useful to you too. If you’re in crisis or need clinical support, please reach out to a licensed professional.

This blog is for you if….
- You feel things more deeply than most people around you.
- You overthink, and you’re exhausted but can’t quite say why.
- You have existential crisis more often than you’d like to admit.
- You’ve spent more time than you’d like asking what’s wrong with you (Spoiler alert: the real answer is… nothing. You’re just figuring it out, and that’s okay.)
- You’re somewhere in your twenties, trying to figure out how to build a life that feels like yours, not just the one that made sense on paper.
A few things about me:
- Powered by coffee, dark chocolate, and an unreasonable number of open browser tabs.
- You’ll usually find me reading something, starting a new journal spread, or chasing a random creative project at 2 AM.
In this world where everyone is trying to fit in, the best thing you can do is choose to create your own way and be authentically and unashamedly YOU. And that is enough 🙂
I’d love to hear from you. Drop a comment on any post, or reach out on the Contact page.
